One of the leading private golf clubs in the North-east of Scotland...
The newly developed short game area is open. Chipping and bunker practice at your fingertips.
Short Game Practice Facility - Do's & Don'ts
The short game area was opened on Wednesday 29th July for play and was designed by course architect Brian Noble, constructed by Neil McLoughlin's team and adds another excellent feature to our Deeside Golf Club facilities.
In order to ensure we can all enjoy the new facility we have developed a simple list of do's & don'ts below. These will help protect the new green, surrounds and bunkers.
- The area has been designed for chipping, pitching and bunker play only.
- The maximum length of shot should be no more than 10 yards, there will be markings and signs to provide indication.
- The driving range should be utilised for the practice of longer shots.
- The existing putting green at the club house should be used to practice putting.
- Although it's a practice facility, it still needs to be treated the same as our golf courses:
- Replace divots.
- Rake the bunkers after use.
- Remain aware of the golf club access road when practicing.
- You can utilise your own golf balls, range balls should not be used.
- There is no defined limited to the number of golfers who can practice at any one time, although please apply common sense with this.
- Be reasonable as to how long you practice if there are others waiting to play.
- On medal days, priority should be given to those wishing to practice before playing in the competition.
- Finally please encourage fellow members to follow these rules as they are there for everyone's benefit.
Your support in following these rules is appreciated, as they will help the short game area to mature and add to our wonderful facilities here at Deeside.
